have a look at 'The Society of the Spectacle' - Ch1. only, pp1-24. Please take notes and draw links between the the 'spectacle' narrated by Guy Debord, your own work and lecture material. This is for discussion on Monday. Also for Monday/Wednesday, please bring the following (be honest) - one criticism of lecture - one criticism of section - one ideal class scenario/ suggestion for making our sections what you want them to be And to clarify, This Monday and Wednesday you should ALL attend both sessions. On Monday, the first critique group (Monday's) from this week will mount a 'flash exhibition' of the latest works. On Wednesday, the second group (Wednesday's) will present their work in the same manner. If your piece is time-based in any way (video/ performance) please contact me in good time so I can allot a time space for it. Also please arrive 10 mins early to begin mounting your work if this will take a little time, and come with all necessary materials to do so (pins, etc). Have a good weekend. Hermione
